Each 250GD Wolf can be tailored with three distinct engine options, each available with your choice of manual or automatic gearbox. Explore the details of each of these powerplants below.
Mercedes-Benz OM602 Diesel
Known as the "million-mile" engine, the 2.5L, 5-cylinder OM602 is one of the most reliable diesels Mercedes ever produced. Unlike many diesels, it delivers linear, useable power across the entire rev range, not just at low RPMs. Designed for military-grade durability, the OM602 is amazingly able to perform in all different conditions, thriving in both the Sahara and Arctic Circle.
Driving a SWB Wolf equipped with the OM602 is an authentic experience, exactly how Mercedes intended it to be. We have made upgrades to the injection jump to improve power delivery and engineering sound-dampening measures to reduce operational noise.

Mercedes-Benz OM60Xa Turbodiesel
For those who want enhanced power output while staying true to Mercedes heritage, the OM60Xa turbodeisel is exceptional. Our tuned engine delivers between 250 and 300 horsepower of smooth, usable power. We have upgraded the turbocharger and fueling system for strong torque throughout the rev range. The result is a Wolf capable of 80 mph highway cruising and nimble around-town performance, a good balance of period-correct appeal and modern drivability.

LS3 V8
Drivers wanting a modern drivetrain can spec our 6.2L LS3 V8. The LS brings crisp throttle response, a rich exhaust note, and confident acceleration. Our team has engineered and implemented proprietary parts to integrate the V8 seamlessly, including an enhanced cooling system and a double-cardan driveline. Every LS3 build also features an AMG braking system for increased stopping power. Front braking power has been increased by 48% and rear by 30%, supported by enlarged, ventilated rotors.
