The EMC 620GE G Wagon represents the pinnacle of our restomod philosophy: preserving the iconic silhouette of the 1990s G Wagon while introducing a level of performance that enhances the driving experience. This specific 1991 build is a great example of understated elegance, pairing a clean, monastic exterior with a powerhouse drivetrain.
While many of our builds utilize the legendary Mercedes-Benz diesel platforms such as the OM606 or the five-cylinder OM605, the 620GE designation signals something more muscular. At the heart of this build is a 6.2L LS3 V8 producing 430 horsepower.

Mated to a modern 6-speed automatic transmission, this engine transforms the character of the vintage SUV. It provides effortless highway cruising and immediate throttle response, offering a contemporary performance profile that many owners look for when researching expedition motor company and journalist reviews. This is not just a surface-level restoration; it is a mechanical evolution.
For this 1991 commission, the client opted for EMC White. This choice highlights the sharp, utilitarian lines of the G Wagon body without the distraction. It is a timeless aesthetic that feels at home in any environment.

While the G500 Cabriolet eventually brought a more "civilized" look to the G-Class in later years, this 250GD-based build retains the authentic, rugged proportions of the military-spec "Wolf" frames we favor. The result is a bespoke custom G Wagon that commands attention through its precision rather than its flash.
The interior of this 620GE is a study in tactile luxury. We utilized our Mushroom weatherproof material, a sophisticated light taupe that brightens the cabin and contrasts beautifully with the off-white white exterior.

To elevate the build further, we integrated hand-finished mahogany wood trim throughout the interior. The deep, reddish-brown grain of the mahogany provides a warm, organic counterpoint to the technical Mushroom upholstery. Whether you are familiar with the standard G500 interior or the more spartan military versions, the EMC 620GE cabin is a distinct, bespoke environment designed for longevity and ergonomics.
