A process refined across six build generations since 2017 begins, for every client, with a single decision: color. EMC offers 33 curated exterior colors across three finishes, non-metallic, metallic, and satin, and any color with a verified manufacturer paint code can be commissioned outside that set. Clients who want a shade no catalog carries work with EMC's paint-to-sample department to match it directly.
The three finishes read differently in person. Non-metallic colors sit flat and consistent in every light. Metallic finishes carry a visible sparkle that shifts with the angle of the sun. Satin finishes sit between gloss and matte, with a low-sheen surface that mutes reflections rather than eliminating them.
Every color in the program is applied to the same platform, a restored G Wagon EMC has worked on across more than 185 commissions since 2017. The decision pairs with 30+ interior colors and six wheel finishes, carried through a build that takes seven to eight months to build. Clients can review the complete palette and begin specifying a custom G Wagon of their own through EMC's build configurator.
Enjoy a look below at some of EMC's most popular colors as well as stand out commissions.

EMC White, one of 14 non-metallic finishes in the catalog, is also a color developed in-house. It reads as a bright, warm white regardless of the options surrounding it. This highlight page documents a 1990 250GD Wolf finished in this shade with EMC's OM605a Turbodiesel and a 5-speed manual transmission.

China Blue, also among the 14 non-metallic finishes, is a genuine Mercedes-Benz MANUFAKTUR color rather than an EMC original. The deep, saturated blue is one of our most popular colors and suits the body lines of Wolf very well. This is one of the most unique commissions to ever leave EMC's shop. This client wanted an exterior finish never ordered before, an authentic NATO camouflage. The team performed a design study on an original military camo exterior, and replicated it on a completely-rebuilt Wolf using NATO green, brown, and black paints.

Color is one of the first decisions in a build that unfolds over seven to eight months. Clients can review available builds finished in these colors and others, or begin a conversation about commissioning a classic G Wagon of their own.
