1992 Mercedes-Benz 250GD Wolf — WDB461-083485
Expedition Motor Company restores each Mercedes-Benz 250GD from the frame up, with each commission refining what came before. This restored client build in Mercedes Magma Beam Orange over Nasturtium Orange—is one of the most striking builds we’ve completed to date. It’s a clear expression of a client’s vision for a vintage convertible G Wagon, executed with our usual focus on quality, drivability, and craftsmanship.

This truck was taken to bare metal and rebuilt from the ground up for everyday use. The result is a short-wheelbase Wolf that feels tight and predictable—analog in the best ways, with road manners that suit modern driving. It’s the character people love from a 1990s g wagon, made easier to live with through careful engineering and development.
Highlights Include:
Upgraded braking system for confident stopping
Proprietary suspension tuned for composure on pavement and predictability off-road
Wireless Apple CarPlay touchscreen with integrated backup camera
Air conditioning and heated seats
Harman premium audio with added sound-proofing
Weatherproof interior materials throughout
Exterior: Mercedes Magma Beam Orange carries well from bright sun to evening light and sets a crisp outline against the black accents throughout the vehicle.
Interior: Nasturtium Orange—durable, weatherproof, and designed for use. As with every EMC SWB Wolf, two soft tops are included: a bikini top for open-air driving with front-row coverage, and a full soft top with roll-up side curtains for a more enclosed, safari-style setup.

Power comes from a fully rebuilt OM605a Turbo rated at 225 hp / 300 lb-ft, paired to a 5-speed manual. The combination delivers smooth, usable torque through the mid-range with direct shifts. Around town, it feels responsive; on the highway, it has enough power to cruise at highway speeds without issue. As with all EMC builds, the drivetrain undergoes extensive in-house testing before delivery, ensuring reliable performance over the long term.
If you’re exploring diesel lineage, this truck originally came with the Mercedes OM602 5-cylinder diesel from the "OM" engine series. This build, along with the other 250GD Turbo builds we have restored, pay homage to the OM series with the OM605a and OM606a Turbo engines while delivering modern-day performance. If you’re researching broader G-Wagen history, this Wolf is a clean counterpoint to petrol versions like the Mercedes GE230 and other civilian long-wheelbase 5-doors.
